Read to Dogs – Spring 2014

Improve your literacy skills by reading to a certified therapy dog. For independent readers of all levels, ages 5-12 years old. Each child will spend about 15 minutes reading to a therapy dog, all while enjoying each others company. Bonding over a shared story gives a child the encouragement and confidences they need to read aloud and improve their literacy skills.

The program will be held on the following dates:

Saturday, May 17th, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.
Saturday, May 31st, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.

Registration is required and space is limited. Child must be an independent reader, ages 5-12 years old. Due to space limitations, Nutley residents and Nutley Library cardholders will receive priority registration. Families holding a BCCLS library card are welcome to register and will be notified if a spot is available.

You may register for one 15 minute time slot per date. Please call or e-mail 48 hours prior if your child will not be able to attend the session, since this allows other patrons the opportunity to participate. Any further questions, please call the Children’s Desk at 973/667-0405 x2623 or e-mail michelle.albert@bccls.org.
